City of Spencer, Spencer Schools Awarded FEMA Funding

(Spencer)--The Federal Emergency Management Agency has awarded the city of Spencer and the Spencer Community School District about $5.5 million in the latest round of disaster relief funding due to the 2024 flood.

 

The Spencer Community School District is receiving nearly $3.2 million for building repairs, including those at Johnson Elementary School. The city of Spencer has been awarded a little more than $2.3 million for repairs at city parks and 17 wastewater lift stations.

 

Also in northwest Iowa, Rock Valley will receive about $2 million to repair damage at the city’s library; the Rock Valley First Reformed Church is getting $370,000 for building repairs and the Sioux County Conservation Board was awarded $164,000 to repair park buildings, roads, culverts and trails.
